Description: Erick Begay is a master silversmith and goldsmith with more than 28 years experience. He is an award winning artist that has multiple awards, including the Santa Fe Indian Market. His Family has been involved in Native American Jewelry for generations. His mother, Frances Begay, taught him the art of silversmithing, while she sold it in Santa Fe. He started making jewelry when he was eleven. When he turned 16 he became a full-time jeweler.

White Buffalo--also known as White Buffalo Turquoise, Wildhorse and Crazyhorse--is a gemstone that is mined in northern Nevada, and sometimes Utah. It was presumed to be turquoise and often sold as such; however; its classification is magnesite and alumite. It has been popularized as White Turquoise.
White Buffalo is often very striking -as it contains dark brown and black matrix. It is a hard stone; equivalent to turquoise. It is rated a 5-6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Stones will vary from piece to piece.
